DO I NEED AN INVENTORY?

Since the introduction of Deposit Protection Schemes in 2007, property inventories and check out reports have become essential documentation for landlords. With most landlords requiring a deposit from their tenants, the deposit must be protected with an approved scheme. Should a landlord seek to make a deduction from the deposit for damages, inventory and check out reports provide the evidence to support the claim. Without this evidence, the claim will be rejected by the scheme

Here at Protect Inventories, we have undertaken inventories and inspections for hundreds of landlords across Brighton and Sussex. By using our independent inventory services, landlords can be assured that the necessary evidence to support a claim is in place. Our inventory and check out reporting has evolved alongside the scheme’s requirements and adjudications, and have been successfully used to support claims for tenant damage and cleaning expenses
